HOT FRESH NEWS! As we end 2008

2008 is almost behind us, and we're gonna send it off with a body-shaking, heart-pounding, sweat-drenched, dance-your-feet-off compilation. You'll start seeing it around Durham as the 2008 winds down. We have so much coming up in early 2009 that we want to get our energy up now!

In vinyl news, we're working on a split with Trekky Records, The Never and Future Kings of Nowhere.

We also have boy/girl's sound tsunami slamming into you with a sweet vinyl 7in.

We are terribly excited to be working with Katastrophe, emcee extraordinaire, on his upcoming album, The Worst Amazing. The video for 'Big Deal' off of said album is out now, and it is crazy smoking hot. Check it out now!

New on our roster, but not new to the music scene, are Durham rockers The Wigg Report. We are getting their back catalog (FlexiSlacks and Seltzer) into digital distribution, releasing their latest greatest album, Like Blammo Fast, and working on a new project for Spring 09.

Continuing our relationship with Future Islands, we are rereleasing Little Advances on CD. It is currently available at your favorite digital music shop, and soon you can have a physical disk in your hot little hands. The Future Islands will be touring UK/Europe in February, then launching a whirlwind March-April US tour with Dan Deacon.

BUT WAIT, there's more! We are working with the amazing Jew(s) and Catholic(s) from Winston-Salem, on their next album, due out this spring.

We have a few more tricks up our sleeves, but we're gonna keep a few surprises tucked away.

Thanks Dave for the updates....check the details below....

PS: Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum:

The Pizza Palace=is that freaky/awesome pizza parlor in north Durham with the crow's nest. Sometimes they have awesome punkrock shows. And they're gonna let us play, too!! (Come early and have dinner! I recommend the Syrian pizza. That shit is awesome.)

CANTWELLGOMEZANDJORDAN=Has a live recording going up on CyTunes, even though we are unable to be at the big Launch Party. Check it out if you love chaos. (On that last track, I very conspicuously/painfully drop a stick. Pretty smooth, Ex-Lax...)

THE EX-MONKEYS=Is the newest incarnation of legendary Raleigh quirky-electro-"rocker"s Friendside monkey. My old band played with them several times back in the day. I have at least two memories of them blowing up P.A.s. Awesome.

PINK FLAG=I haven't yet seen PF, but Ross loves these guys. And so does Anne. 'Nuff said, I presume.

THE CURTAINS OF NIGHT=in a (trio of) town(s) with an increasing number of mighty bands, CoN may be the mightiest. Maybe just 'cause of their effeiciency: The two of them pack more decibels into a set than many quartets I can think of.
Oh, and the songs are really great, not simply loud.

THE SAINT PETER POCKET VETO=You might have seen these guys at Duo-Fest '08. They are--um--a duo from Winston-Salem. Total math-metal-spazzoid madness and amazingness. You will not be disappointed if you like this kind of music (and if you don't like this kind of music, why are you getting this email??)

SPACE MAMMAL=Is a buddy (or maybe buddies) of SPPV, all the way from Chester, Virginia (!). The tracks on their Myspace page sound like cool, NightLight-esque overdriven synth jamz with little bleepy breakdown parts. And some guitary stuff, too. Cool for cats.
